The Challenge
Children with disabilities face not only a variety of physical challenges but also many social challenges affecting their ability to integrate with their educational systems and communities. Parents for children with disabilities also face many complexities as they raise their children and attempt to provide them with a welcoming and inclusive environment. There is a crucial need of guiding and supporting children with special needs and their families, from birth to maturity, while maintaining a balanced family life.
The Opportunity
Shalva is a leading organization working to empower individuals with disabilities and their families and promoting social inclusion, from infancy to adulthood. Through the organization’s many activities, individuals with disabilities learns crucial life proficiencies and experience enhanced cognitive, physical, and social performance. These achievements do not only strengthen the family bond but also increase the value of tolerance in the wider Israeli society.
