We are encouraging higher education and academic excellence among Druze students from Isfiya, through scholarships for outstanding students who in return volunteer in social activities for the community in Isfiya.
The Challenge
Students who live in Isfiya, A Druze village in the north of Israel, primarily come from a low socio-economic background, which is a barrier during their academic year because of the need for financial support. Most students are required to work during the academic school year in order to fund their tuition and the cost of living. This can affect their academic achievements and even lead to dropouts.
The Opportunity
The Menomadin Foundation sees great importance in developing young leaders in the Druze society and believes that academic studies are an essential pillar in developing leadership and promoting social mobility. The Foundation has donated 60 scholarships to outstanding students from Isfiya in the 2020 school year, and these students will volunteer in social activities that will contribute to the development of the Isafiya village and its people.
